• Notes

  Robert Charles Anderson, in GM 5:127, states that Matthew Mitchell and Susan Wood were married in Halifax, Yorkshire on 16 Apr 1616, but what he cites is Matthew Wood's 1989-90 article (citation details below) which says that the marriage took place on 21 August of that year, so we assume this was a transcription error on Anderson's part. Ogden and Owen's later 2020 article (citation details below) also gives the date as 21 Aug 1616.
