  He is mentioned as owning land in Roxbury in 1639. The History of Peter Parker and Sarah Ruggles (citation details below) suggests that he was the Thomas Griggs born in 1585 to John and Martha Griggs of Boxted, Suffolk, but Donald Lines Jacobus tactfully notes that "it may be questioned whether he was so closely related to a manorial family."
