  • Notes
    • Seigneur of Noisy, Marchez, Liancourt, and Sarcelles.

"Jean de Popincourt, the elder, was from Beuvraignes in Picardy near the village of Popincourt from which his surname derived. He was a knight and a lawyer for the king and also for the village of Amiens in the Parlement de Paris. In 1388, he was the third President of the Parlement de Paris. Charles VI named him first President of the Parlement de Paris in 1399, but he was not officially installed until 14 April 1400." [John P. DuLong, citation details below]

Not to be confused with his younger brother, also named Jean de Popincourt, who was in the direct ancestry of Catherine de Baillon.
