  Dean Crawford Smith and Melinde Lutz Sanborn (citation details below) tentatively identify Deborah, the first wife of Ebenezer Leland, as a daughter of Edward Brazier of Watertown, because of a passage in Ebenezer's father Henry's will through which Ebenezer received considerable land: "To my son Ebenezur according to my agreement with my brother Brasier I give and bequeath the land I purchased of Goodman Holbrook being sixty Seven acres of upland…" etc. Smith and Sanborn note that "there is no other visible connection between Edward Brazier of Watertown, the only contemporary man in New England of that surname, and the Lelands of Medfield and Sherborn…No other likely explanation for this relationship hhas been discovered."
