    • Richardson (citation details below) calls him "George Peniston." The 1564 visitation of Northamptonshire calls him "Gregory Penyston of Curtasels in Pyamount in Italye." He was probably actually named Gregorio Panizzone, of the family Panizzone or Panizzoni, in Corticelle near Alessandria, today called Cortiglione.

      Fryday, the viij. daye of Maij, to Nouauylla in Haust to Hauste, and to Curtysello the same nyght, where we were at ease, &c.
