Nevertheless [...] it is probable that Fulcois was the paternal grandfather of Rotrou, and thus father of Geoffroy. Fulcois is given the title of count by his grandson, but there is no direct evidence of the region over which he was count. However, since Rotrou was count of Mortagne, it has been supposed that Fulcois was also a count of Mortagne, a reasonable presumption. There is no good evidence about the time in which Fulcois flourished.
