    He may have been the Robert Hebert who was baptized in Salisbury, Wiltshire, on 13 Mar 1613, a son of John Hebert.

    He was a salt maker and a bricklayer. He may have been one of those brought over by the younger John Winthrop for his salt works; he is recorded as living with Winthrop at the salt house in 1638.

    Notes:

    Edith Bartlett Sumner, Louis Effingham De Forest, and other reasonable genealogists concluded that she was a daughter of John Luff or Love, but Robert Charles Anderson pointed out in the Great Migration entry for John Luff that what the evidence actually shows is that between 1637 and 1647, John Luff married a woman named Bridget who was the mother of either Robert Hebert or of Robert's wife Joan.

    It was long believed that Henry Kimball's wife was Mary Wyatt, because the will of John Wyatt of Ipswich (d. 1665) mentioned his daughter Mary and his grandson John "Kemball." But in 1989 John Brooks Threlfall showed that the "daughters" mentioned in John Wyatt's will were in fact the daughters of his wife Mary by her previous husband, Edward Riddlesdale.

    The wills of Robert and Henry Whotlock of Rattlesdon, 1622 and 1623 respectively, both mention their "sister Martha Skott. Robert refers to his "kinswoman, Ursula Kemball." Henry's will says "To my grandson Henry Kemball twenty shillings at age of one and twenty."

    She emigrated to New England in 1634, with her son Thomas and his family and her daughter Ursula and her family.
