Often said to have been a sister of Robert Chapman, one of the founders of Saybrook, Connecticut, in 1635, but no evidence for this has been found.

Rebecca married William Bushnell about 1643 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut. William (son of Francis Bushnell and Ferris Quenell) was born before 3 Feb 1611; was christened on 3 Feb 1611 in Horsham, Sussex, England; died on 12 Nov 1683 in Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut.
