• Notes

  He was a blacksmith, and one of the first twelve landowners of Long Reach, the Maine community later known as Bath. His nineteenth-century Crooker descendants built a shipbuilding empire centered there. He was allegedly a very large man, well over six feet tall and weighing upwards of 300 pounds.
