  • Notes
    • She is given two different birth dates at two different places in George Walter Chamberlain's History of Weymouth (citation details below). In the entry for her husband, William Pettee, she is said to have been born at Weymouth 12 Oct 1663; in the entry for her father, Sgt. John Porter, she is said to have been born in the same place on 22 Oct 1662.

This is probably an error prompted by the fact that the vital records of Weymouth contain two entries for a Mary Porter, daughter of John and Deliverance. In the published version (citation details below), the entries are immediately adjacent to one another, although the mother is spelled "Deliverence" in the second entry. One entry says 22 Oct 1662 and the next says 12 Oct 1663. The likeliest interpretation of this is that the child born in 1662 died in childbirth or infancy, and that this Mary Porter is the one born in 1663.
