  His death date, included in the 1910 published vital records of Weymouth, comes "from diaries of Dr. Cotton Tufts, now in the possession of Hon. Charles Francis Adams of South Lincoln." The fact that an individual lived named "Cotton Tufts" is proof of a benign God, or at any rate one with a sense of humor.
