  He was present at the siege of Berwick in 1482, where he was made a knight banneret by Edward IV. In 1511 he entered into holy orders and became a priest. "Sir Piers Legh, kt. and priest, died in 1527 holding [the manor of Dalton], with land in Dalton and Aykbank, of the king as of his duchy by a rent of 10s."
