    • "He was in Plymouth as early as 1636 for on the last day of March 1637 he was hired to keep the cows this year at the same wages he had last year. On 3 Aug. 1640 he was granted six acres of upland. He was a freeman in Plymouth in 1658 but in 1670 was a freeman of Middleboro." [Robert S. Wakefield, citation details below]

      Although he was granted land in Middleborough on 3 June 1662, his will, dated 31 Oct 1679, calls him "William Nelson Sr. of the Towne of New Plymouth in the Colony of New Plymouth in New England in America."
