• Notes

  He may have been a son of Robert Drake, sergemaker, baptized at Halstead, Essex 23 Jul 1581, who subsequently settled at Hampton, New Hampshire and had a grant of pasture there 23 Feb 1646, dying there on 14 Jan 1668, but nothing exists to prove this. He was a landowner, a tavern-runner, a commissioned captain of militia for Piscataway township, one of the first selectment there, and also constable, justice of the peace, and, in 1682, a county judge.
