Notes - The 16 Aug 1636 record of the marriage of "Jerimias Howchen et Hester Pigeon" at Pulham St. Mary the Virgin, Norfolk, was first presented by Robert Charles Anderson in 1992 in a brief article showing marriages evidences which might be those of known Great Migration immigrants. (Prior to that, Jeremiah Houchin's wife was known only as Esther or Hester.) But later, in his 2015 Great Migration Directory, Anderson says, as evidently settled fact, that Jeremiah Houchin was from Pulham St. Mary the Virgin.
That this 1636 record refers to the Jeremiah and Esther Houchin of Boston seems at least as plausible as the idea that Jeremiah's father was William Houchin of Harleston. Harleston and Pulham St. Mary are a mere two or three miles apart.
