    • The 1917 history of Twinsburg, Ohio (citation details below) places another Steven (or Stephen) Turner as father of this one, and son of Amos Turner, but provides no further information. Given that Amos Turner and Prudence Allyn married in 1770, and this Steven Turner's wife Lucretia Wightman was definitely born in 1772, we find this extra generation implausible on simple chronological grounds.

      Also notably, A Portrait and Biographical Record of Portage and Summit Counties, Ohio (citation details below) says "Stephen Turner's father was Amos Turner, who married Prudence Allyn, June 1, 1770."
