  • Notes
    • He appears to have emigrated to Louisiana in 1738, and was an officer in the military in the Illinois country shortly thereafter, rising from ensign en second in 1640 to captain in 1759. As early as 1750 he was involved in the lead mining business in the Illinois country. He travelled extensively and was part of multiple expeditions into Native territory, but his home base was generally in the Illinois country, where he was killed in action during the French and Indian War.
