  Knight of the Body to Henry VII. Sheriff of Staffordshire 1484-85, and of Yorkshire, 148081, 1488-89, 1493-94, 1509-10. Knight of the shire for York, 1495. Fought at Bosworth. Commanded the left at Flodden Field. Died after accidentally drinking a glass of water with a live frog in it, thus disproving the widely-repeated saying that if you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, nothing worse will happen to you all day.
