  • Notes
    • A Genealogical and Historical Record of the Descendants of John Pease says that he "sickened in the midst of making preparations for building, and died 'suddenly,' July 8, 1689. His wife had died just ten days before; his daughter Abigail died one day later, July 9. This many deaths so close together suggests the possibility of a fast-moving infectious disease.
