Notes - Soldier, Continental Army (Virginia), American Revolution. He fought in the 1780 Battle of King's Mountain and survived, unlike his brother Charles Jr. (b. 1740) who was killed.

This site says his will "was made on May 25, 1821 and apparently probated August 1821." Named in it was "Sarah (married William McHaney)".
