    His birth has been given by many good sources as 16 Mar 1666, but the original Ipswich records, viewable on familysearch.org, show his birth as "John sonne of Thomas Stace borne the 16th of march 1666" -- in a series of 1666 records that run from April 1666 to March 1666. In other words, in new style, he was born in March 1667.

    According to History of the Goodspeed Family (citation details below), he was at Salem 1690, Watertown 1696, Barnstable 1709, Ipswich 1719, and Gloucester 1722. He was a millwright.

    John Stacy and Mary Clarke are ancestors of George Walker Bush through his mother Barbara (Pierce) Bush.

    John married Mary Clarke on 26 Aug 1689. Mary (daughter of Matthew Clarke and Abigail Maverick) died on 6 Sep 1720 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
