    "[Stephen Gates] led a very migratory life. In Boston, where he was living February 17, 1667, he was an assistant to Edward Drinker, a potter and Baptist preacher. In 1673 he was of Cambridge, when Drinker deeded to him three hundred acres in the wilderness between Lancaster and Concord on both sides of Elizabeth brook.
